I've been letting my 18 month old help me with my chores. Like getting the clothes out of the dryer or picking up his shoes or toys. Building with blocks, reading books. Since the weather is really wet here it's hard for us to do things outside. I've also out up a two man tent before and filled it with pillows and blankets and let him and his sister play in there.

Oh, the tent idea is really good. Also, cardboard boxes. Any size, any shape (although the big ones are the MOST fun). My kids love to fill and empty small boxes, hide in medium boxes, and make forts or houses out of really large boxes. Oh, my kids have really done well with cooking together. It's a mess, but they love dumping and stirring (my 4 year old still insists that he's "the dumper" if there's cooking to be done).

Well some of the things that we do are......
- puppet shows
- hide and seek (but be careful sometimes they hide really good)Sometimes we hide stuffed animals or something like that and then find them too!
-We also play zoo, we put out our stuffed animals in different areas of the house and then go around and look at them just like the zoo.
-My kids also love the connect four game they don't really play, but they love put the checkers in and dump them, I don't think they are small enough to swallow?!
-Play dough is messy, but fun and if you let it dry it is easier to clean up! or there is homemade peanut butter play dough and then little ones can eat it! (I will post that soon)
-My mom made my kids a cover that goes over a card table to make a tent or you could just put a big blanket! then we turn off the lights and get flash lights to play with.
-Also my kids like to play "clean" so I went to the dollar store and got empty spray bottles and put a little water lavender oil (so they would think it was real) and then tell them to work on cleaning the kitchen floor! they do good for a while, but you still have to watch them, they will eventually get out of hand!
-my kids love water colors, but they are hard to find.
